"Last summer (July-August, 2008), I participated in the Joint Summer Module programme for SUFONAMA MSc students in the Veneto region of Italy. The two weeks trip was a part of the MSc programme and was organised by the SUFONAMA secretariat of the consortium of five participating universities in Europe. The objective was to expose the participants to different forest and nature management issues in Europe through involving them directly in field visits. Therefore, the overall programme comprised two main parts: a) familiarisation with the general environment and b) specialised working on thematic issue areas of the Alps ecosystem.  From the first day of the trip I learned more from the summer module than I ever would have expected...."
